The Short Version

SemanticMemorySystems is a consulting practice. We help organizations build AI systems that remember what's true, not just what was stored. These terms govern your use of our website, tools, and services.

The basics: - We're consultants, not lawyers or compliance officers - Our tools (like the AI Hallucination Detector) are diagnostic aids, not guarantees - Your data stays yours - Don't use our stuff to do illegal things - If something goes wrong, let's talk before lawyering up

SECTION 1: WHAT WE DO

SemanticMemorySystems provides: - Consulting services — helping organizations design and implement semantic memory architecture - Diagnostic tools — like the AI Hallucination Detector, which identifies contradictions in documentation - Educational content — articles, case studies, and methodology documentation

We are not: - A law firm (we can't give legal advice) - A compliance certifier (we can't guarantee regulatory compliance) - An insurance policy (our tools find problems; fixing them is on you)

SECTION 2: THE FREE DIAGNOSTIC

We offer a free documentation diagnostic. Here's how it works:

What you provide: - Documentation files you want analyzed - Permission for us to process those files

What we do: - Run our diagnostic tools on your documentation - Identify contradictions, drift, and potential issues - Provide a summary report

What we don't do: - Store your documents beyond the analysis period - Share your documents with anyone - Use your documents to train AI models - Guarantee we'll find every problem (we're good, not omniscient)

After the diagnostic: - You own the results - We may follow up to discuss findings - No obligation to purchase consulting services

SECTION 3: CONSULTING SERVICES

If you engage us for consulting:

3.1 Scope

Each engagement is governed by a separate Statement of Work (SOW) that defines: - What we're building or analyzing - Timeline and milestones - Deliverables - Pricing and payment terms

3.2 Intellectual Property

  • Your stuff stays yours. Your documentation, data, and existing systems remain your property.
  • Our methodology stays ours. Our frameworks, tools, and approaches remain our intellectual property.
  • Work product is negotiable. Custom work created for you is addressed in the SOW — typically you own the output, we retain the right to use general learnings.

3.3 Confidentiality

We treat your information as confidential. We will not: - Disclose your proprietary information to third parties - Use your data for other clients without permission - Publicly reference our engagement without your approval

You agree to the same regarding our methodologies and proprietary tools.

SECTION 4: TOOLS AND DIAGNOSTICS

4.1 What Our Tools Do

Our diagnostic tools (AI Hallucination Detector, Drift Detector, etc.) analyze documentation for: - Internal contradictions - Outdated information - Inconsistencies across documents - Potential drift from source truth

4.2 What Our Tools Don't Do

Our tools do not: - Guarantee accuracy (we find likely problems, not all problems) - Provide legal or compliance certification - Replace human judgment - Fix problems automatically (they identify; you decide)

4.3 Accuracy Disclaimer

Our tools use AI to identify patterns and contradictions. AI systems can: - Miss problems that exist - Flag problems that don't exist - Misinterpret context

Our diagnostics are starting points for investigation, not final verdicts. Always verify findings with domain experts.

SECTION 5: DATA AND PRIVACY

5.1 What We Collect

When you use our website: - Standard analytics (pages visited, time on site) - Information you voluntarily provide (contact forms, diagnostic uploads)

When you use our tools: - Documents you upload for analysis - Results of analysis

5.2 What We Don't Do

We do not: - Sell your data to anyone - Use your documents to train AI models - Share your information with third parties (except as required by law) - Keep your documents longer than necessary for the service

5.3 Your Rights

You can request: - Access to data we hold about you - Deletion of your data - Correction of inaccurate data

SECTION 6: LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

6.1 The Legal Version

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SEMANTICMEMORYSYSTEMS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES, TOOLS, OR WEBSITE.

6.2 The Human Version

We're a small consulting practice doing our best to help organizations build better systems. If our diagnostic misses something, or our advice doesn't work out perfectly, we'll work with you to make it right — but we can't be on the hook for unlimited damages.

Our liability is limited to the fees you've actually paid us. If you used a free service, our liability is zero dollars, because that's what you paid.

6.3 What We Actually Stand Behind

We stand behind: - Doing honest work - Protecting your confidential information - Delivering what we promise in our SOWs - Making reasonable efforts to fix problems

We don't guarantee: - Specific business outcomes - That every problem will be found - That implementing our recommendations will solve all your issues - Perfection (we're human, assisted by AI that's also imperfect)

SECTION 7: ACCEPTABLE USE

Don't use our services to: - Process documents you don't have rights to - Analyze content for illegal purposes - Attempt to reverse-engineer our tools - Misrepresent diagnostic results as official certifications - Be a jerk

SECTION 8: MODIFICATIONS

We may update these terms. When we do: - Material changes will be posted on our website - Continued use after changes means acceptance - If you disagree with changes, stop using our services

SECTION 9: GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, USA.

We both agree to attempt good-faith resolution of disputes before pursuing legal action. If that fails, disputes will be resolved in the courts of Montana.
